JASON PAUL BURKS

Jason's love for film began shooting a short video overseas with a consumer camera 15 years ago.  This project started his love for storytelling and he then began educating himself in filmmaking.  Treating every project with a high attention to detail and with a desire to be original and creative, Jason is constantly pushing the edge of what many think possible in filmmaking.   At age 31 he is one of the youngest cinematographers to have extensive experience with a long list of the highest end motion camera's and equipment used for filming today. Jason has a strong sense of leadership and is very good at leading crews of 50 or more.  He has shot over 800 TV commercials both regional and national, dozens of music videos, short films, feature films, documentaries, and product videos.  His projects have taken him to all 50 states in the US and 6 different continents.  From South Africa, Japan, and Hungary to Guatemala, the Philippines, and Canada, Jason has enjoyed opportunities in different cultures and settings to shoot scenes and people in interesting ways.  He is a very passionate outdoorsmen and always finds a reason to attach a camera to his snowboard, mountain bike, or helmet.  Filmmaking is not a job for him, it is a lifestyle.  It's not uncommon to find him in his studio building some sort of strange camera rig or unusual light.   Jason's goal for the future is to continue working with other creative individuals on feature films, documentaries, commercials, and music videos; and to push the limits of lighting, camera movement, and production design.  His passion has been and always will be telling stories that move people through film.
